Message

With deep sense of
gratitude to the Lord
God Almighty and our
Saviour Lord Jesus
Christ, I am pleased to
see that the Prospectus
2011 for on campus
students of Sam
Higginbottom Institute
of Agriculture,
Technology and Sciences
(SHIATS) is ready for
release. The Lord has
blessed this Institution
for 100 years and we
welcome you to a truly
unique institution of
higher education. You
have chosen to become a
member of SHIATS
community and we are
glad to have you here.
We are India's one of
the oldest educational
institution, founded in
1910. We have a long and
rich heritage of serving
people and we look
forward to serve you
too. Being the oldest
educational institution,
however, doesn't mean
that we are old
fashioned about what we
do. You will find a rich
blend of modern and
sustainable methods of
instruction. We are
thoroughly focused on
taking care of the
educational needs of our
students and the
industry. You will find
that your education here
will stand the test of
time. Recent trends
suggest that role of the
student in the
educational process
should be conceptualized
in ways that go beyond
their traditional views.
We have developed, an
effective educational
structure to reinforce
number of essential
modules, which are inter
related and have a
predictive value for
professional
edification. Priority
segment of our
professional education
system have been
identified, analyzed and
recharged from all sides
by battery of thinking
professionals. Our
faculty have a
well-deserved reputation
for excellence as
evidenced by our
on-going accreditation
from a number of
professional agencies.
We are dedicated to
educating each of our
students as a whole
person. Through a rich
curriculum and student
support services, we
offer learning
experiences in and out
of the classroom that
provide opportunities to
develop personal
competencies, spiritual
values and professional
skills. The university
offers a multitude of
undergraduate,
postgraduate, diploma
and doctoral programs
that provide students
with the rigorous,
interdisciplinary
education needed for
success in an
ever-changing world. At
the same time, research
at SHIATS strengthens
the outstanding
education, fosters
continued learning of
students, faculty, and
staff, and benefits our
region and society. We
also believe that our
graduates will have much
to contribute to improve
every community, and
therefore, we encourage
leadership development
and service learning.
We believe and trust in
the Lord who gave
strength and recourses
to Dr. Sam Higginbottom
for establishing this
great Institution. The
word was also received
by the founder as a
promise from book of
Isaiah 54:17, “No weapon
forged against you will
prevail, and you will
refute every tongue that
accuses you. This is the
heritage of the servants
of the Lord, and this is
their vindication for
me, declares the Lord”.
We all believe that
SHIATS is truly blessed
Institution by the Lord
because He guides us and
helps us in fulfilling
the vision and mandate
of the University with
Godly living. The Lord
has installed Sam
Higginbottom Institute
of Agriculture,
Technology & Sciences at
the national platform
with International
reach.
You will also find that
we understand our
responsibility to manage
our resources very
carefully. When you
combine the low cost of
our service with the
exceptional quality of
our programs, you will
find that we provide the
greatest possible
educational value in our
state. We know that both
your time and your
financial resources are
limited. That is why we
can to be flexible and
frugal to allow you to
stretch both to the
maximum.
Whatever, we have been
through, we know that
the GOD never fails that
He is faithful, merciful
and loving God. We
encourage every one to
trust GOD for the
unimaginable and
tremendous anointing
that He has placed upon
this University. SHIATS
is the God's creation
and we pray, He would
use our University as a
vessel to pour out more
of His presence in every
one's life.
I am very happy to
welcome the new students
coming with greater
expectations and we love
to fulfill with the best
of our ability by the
grace of Lord Jesus
Christ through the power
of the Holy Spirit.
