A lot of critical
thinking is being done
in the field of Higher
Education to meet the
social, economical,
scientific,
technological, and
agricultural based
challenges suitably. But
the higher cost of
education is hindering
the popular movement:
'include the excluded'.
At the same time, the
sizeable chunk of
affluent society is
increasing at faster
pace compared to
poverty. Many foreign
universities have
started marketing
themselves in a big way
in India. They are
making sustained efforts
to attract Indian
students either to their
countries, or ensure
students by offereing
dual degree programmes
in association with
Indian Universities.
Also multinationals,
political figures,
industrial groups and
individuals have all
shades and
denominations. This
trend is likely to
intensify in the coming
years, and thus only the
best will survive. It is
therefore imperative
that quality of
education offered by the
institutions should be
appreciated by student
and their employers,
above all other factors
associated with the
present scenario.
For any country Higher
Education is an
important form of
investment in human
capital development. It
is specialized form of
human capital,
contribution of which to
economic growth is very
significant, and
regarded as 'engine of
development' in the new
world economy.
Universities may operate
in national and
international context,
but they occupy local
sites. Therefore the
modern trend is - Think
globally linked to local
spaces, others to
national systems, and
only a few chosen ones
are beyond national
bounds; that too in
specific and specialized
areas.
Usually institutions of
higher learning have
been solidly grounded in
particular sites but
they have had particular
way of associating -
disassociating
themselves relative to
their local
underpinnings. During
the last century
Allahabad Agricultural
Institute - Deemed
University has developed
itself into more than a
mere place of
traditional learning.
National students from
all walks of life and
states including
international student
had been choosing it as
their favorite seat of
high learning. It is a
multi faculty university
having earned a name in
the field of
Agriculture, Dairy
Technology and
Agricultural Engineering
in the world, is now
striving in other fields
of Management studies,
Engineering, Allied and
Medical Sciences as
well. Our students are
not only serving the
local needs, but are
holding high positions
and have earned a good
name for their alma
mater nationally and
internationally. We
cover four dimensions of
education ie. Strong
theoretical and
practical teaching;
Extension of Education
to industries and
fields; Research Studies
in contemporary fields
of advance knowledge;
and Applied practices
and acquisition of
appropriate soft skills.
The mission of the
university during the
last 100 years has
remained unaltered i.e.
'Serve The Land; Feed
The Hungry.' Your
