environmental, medical and nutritional aspects, has been vastly improved by
our rapidly growing understanding of biochemistry. The department is
committed to excellence through teaching and research with well-equipped
laboratories in the field of biochemistry. The rapid development and
enormous expansion of every phase of biochemistry has not only markedly
enriched our knowledge about the nature of life but has also made
biochemistry in understanding very language of life itself. The department
with its expertise in the field of biochemical techniques, plant
biochemistry, enzymology, immunology, molecular biochemistry etc. is
progressive in providing quality teaching and research. The courses offered
in this discipline emphasize on understanding of fundamental concepts, and
facilitates learning and application biochemical mythologies and analytical
techniques. The department with its experienced faculty is dedicated to
impart relevant training to the young to developing their expertise,
research ability and professionalism.
Lab Facilities
The Department has two undergraduate, postgraduate and research
laboratories, well equipped with modern instruments for conducting good
researches in the field of Biochemistry & Biochemical Technology.
Research Activities
The research activities of the department involves enzymological researches
in living system, analysis of the significant usage of agrochemicals,
biodiesel production, chitin isolation from fresh water diatoms,
antioxidants properties of various plants and evaluation of medicinal plant
parts in the control of acute and chronic diseases.
