The Department of Mechanical Engineering & Applied
Mechanics offers the undergraduate, postgraduate and Ph.D. in Mechanical
Engineering and Industrial and Production Engineering. The world of
Mechanical Engineering changes under the influence of advanced computational
tools, vastly improved simulation & analysis and entirely different
manufacturing protocols. This has opened up new era of research in the
department, such as Computational Heat Transfer, Advanced Manufacturing
Process, CAD/CAM/CIM, Robotics, Operation Management, Energy Management, and
Control Engineering. Our vision is to be premium global conglomerate with a
clear focus on holistic teaching and intensive research. Our mission is to
deliver the best quality technocrats to our nation at large.
Lab Facilities
There are eleven well equipped laboratories with the state of art technology
namely Computer aided manufacturing (CAM), Computer aided design (CAD), Heat
and Mass Transfer, Thermodynamics, Refrigeration and Air-conditioning,
Measurement & Metrology, Metallurgy, Graphics, Solar Energy, I.C Engine and
Automobile Engineering.
Research Activities
The department is actively involved in intensive research activities in
various thrust areas. Some of the specific areas include: Design
Engineering, Heat Transfer, Energy Management, Manufacturing Science &
Technology, Combined Power Cycle, Turbo Machinery, Solar Refrigeration and
Solar Drying.
