The Department of Agricultural Extension and
communication is globally known for its pioneer work in Rural Development.
The first Rural Development project started in India through this pioneer
department in the name of Jumna Par Punar Nirman (JUPAN) sponsored by Ford
Foundation Society of USA. The Department was established in 1952 under the
dynamic leadership of Dr. A. T. Moser. Beside the mandate of teaching and
Research at U.G. and P.G. level it encourages proactive approach towards
Extension and Rural Development activities.
Lab facilities
The Department has two labs namely Visual and Audio-visual lab with modern
instructional technologies, viz., L.C.D. projector, O.H.P., slide projector,
computer with internet facility, P. A. system etc. students participate to
study field problems and workout their solution apart regular village
extension visits.
Research Activities
The focus is to meet the requirements of different stake holders and develop
skill among graduates which can support the globalization and demand led
market and rejuvenate agricultural education. On-hand experience in
understanding field problems, project development and execution with an end
to end approach.
