“The hands that rock the cradle rule the world. The
teacher who inspires his pupils rules the minds”.
Teacher Education has become one of the thrusting areas in the field of
Education. The success of any educational system depends largely upon the
qualities of teachers. A teacher is a “Maker of Destiny”. He is the
transmitter of knowledge and culture, builder of character and personality
of children, conveyor of moral and ethical values, and architect of the
future of the nation, guide and counselor, inspirer for social change. So a
sound programme of professional education is needed for the teachers in
bringing qualitative improvement in teaching. It helps to improve
curriculum, evaluation of techniques, classroom management & diagnosis of
student behaviour and to seek answers to some of their problems of immediate
concern.
The College of Education came into being on October 4, 2002.
