The communication revolutions are on the threshold of
complete maturation, as the word itself prepares for the twenty first
century. The electronics explosion, the software phenomenon and the
communications revolution are together the most vital segments, of the
information superhighway that, symbolically, bridges nations and cultures,
peoples and communities and thus leads to the fulfillment of the great
vision of the global village.
School of Film & Mass Communication (SFMC) aims at providing the best
opportunities to student and prepare them to meet the emerging global
challenges in the year to come. SFMC also impart technical education to the
future aspirants and aims at creating a work force of professional with
analytic skills. SFMC is a School par excellence equipped with latest
laboratories excellent infrastructure and qualified, experienced and
committed team of faculty members. Teachers provide firm and supportive
learning environment. Radio is not simply a tool for entertainment, but is
also a great tool for employment. The SFMC as a part of its social
commitment and responsibility towards the community within which it is
situated; running a Community Radio Station (CRS), addressing itself to the
residents of Allahabad. This FM Radio broadcasts educational, enrichment and
a wide range of rich sociocultural programmes. The students, under the
supervision of faculty members produce the radio programmes. FM Radio is a
space that provides an excellent learning experience to our students. SFMC’s
Radio Station is a good source of hands-on experience for students of mass
communication.
For those students who come and join here find the programme with
opportunities which are provided for all round personality development by
participating in co-curriculum and extra curriculum activities. This course
will lead to excellent employment prospects. Labs have the latest
equipments, all the cameras are high definition cameras. Students have full
access to every available equipment in the lab. Shooting lights like
Multi-20, Solar & Baby and shooting floor has its benefits.
SFMC has been attached to several satellite channels. It produces films and
videos for these channels. Frequent visits are made by guest/visitors who
enlighten our students with their lectures. Students learn a lot from these
lectures There is an opportunity to learn some thing new from different
perspective. It is a complete professional course where students have got
more placement opportunities.

This centre is dedicated to students who have inclination to media and wish
to anchor their education with new insights about managing organizations.
Centre for Advertising & Public Relations
This centre provides educatin in advertising and public relations developing
strategic plans, publicity and creative media messages. It covers both
global marketing considerations and those specific to India. This centre has
two departments.

Public relations, advertising use strong communication skills to get across
their message, apply psychological principles to understand and influence
consumers and utilize basic data analysis to assure they are hitting their
target markets. In addition, these fields require the use of creativity to
generate the ideas and messages as well as critical thinking skills to make
sense of the market research. Students acquire knowledge as well as set of
skills.
Centre for Creative Art
This centre offers applied and forward-thinking programs in the areas of
art, design and lighting. It has two departments.

The centre promotes art appreciation and art education in the field of
visual arts and set designing. Students get in-hand experience too.
Centre for Performing Arts
The purpose of the centre for Creative Art is to seek, develop and to train
the best professional performers in world of music, play or theaters. It has
two departments.

Department of Acting & Makeup Work
The distinct feature of performing art is that like plastic art, it does not
uses the metals of clau, etc. but it uses the artist real or own body. Apart
from art, this is a good source of entertainment too, as people in their
free time go for these and enjoys it. The centre focus on the creation and
interpretation of works and performances that use auditory, kinesthetic and
visual phenomena to express ideas and emotions in various forms, subject to
aesthetic criteria.
