College of Engineering Technology

College of Engineering and Technology (CET) is aiming at transforming the students into a very competitive engineers with adequate analytical skills so as to make them more acceptable to potential employers in the country. The college emphasizes on to induce some basic ingredients so that the students are capable of adopting to social changes, flexible enough to become trainable as per requirements of their job, more capable of solving problems and ready to take up the challenges and exhibiting their leadership quality. The college was started in 2002 and within a span of five years it has been transformed to a leading engineering and technological college of repute.
The college aspires to provide high quality education so as to produce competitive professionals. Technical education requires exceptionally analytical capability, good capacity of the learner , creative thinking , innovative skills , ability to communicate , capacity to learn quickly, ability to capture knowledge and upgrade it. Such an education with a continuous improvement embedded into it, is imparted to bring in quality improvement among students. Further the college will emphasizes on enhancing the industrial interaction among students/ faculty by introducing them to the corporate world so as to develop core competency and consultancy service. The college is moving ahead to tie-up with various international / national institutes and universities so as to generate the Technical Networking in order to secure the position of world leaders in specific technical areas.

Department of Mechanical Engineering & Applied Mechanics

Mechanical Engineering is the core and backbone of all engineering disciplines. Establishment of any type of industry whether core or high tech begins with Mechanical Engg and an appreciable number of Mechanical Engineers are involved in running the industry.
The Department of Mechanical Engineering and Applied Mechanics offers a broad based programme of education and training in all aspects of Mechanical Engg.It offers undergraduate (B.Tech , Mech Engg), postgraduate (M.Tech, Production and Industrial Engg) and doctoral programmes. There are elleven well equipped laboratories with the state of art technology namely Workshop , Computer aided manufacturing (CAM) , Computer aided design (CAD) , Heat and Mass Transfer , Thermodynamics , Refrigeration and air-conditioning , Instrumentation and control, Metallurgy, Graphics, Solar Energy, I.C. Engines, Automobiles Labs etc .
The department has qualified and experienced faculty members . Special Lectures from eminent professionals are arranged. A great emphasis is given on project work, especially industrial project . The pass out students are well placed.

Faculty

Electrical and Electronics Engg Deptt is running B. Tech, M Tech and Ph.D. Programmes. Currently 3 Faculty members are pursuing Ph.D programme in the Department.
There are Eight well Equipped Laboratories, namely power system Lab. Control system Lab, Power Electronics Lab, Electrical Machine Lab, Network Lab, Basic Electrical Lab, Electro-Mech. Energy Conversion Lab and Project Lab.
The department has well qualified and experienced faculty members, they are encouraged to do research, publish and present papers in National, International Conferences and Seminars.
Students are encouraged to under go Industrial training in Vacation's. After third year there is Compulsory Industrial training of one month and students are required to submit detailed training report.

Department has been imparting quality education to our students through varied programs like undergraduate (Electronics and Communication), postgraduate (Advanced Communication System), Ph. D (Optical Fiber Communication ,Microwave Engg., DSP etc).
Department has framed-up a mission to convert our students into a very competitive engineers so that they may be more acceptable to employers in varied application across in their career not only within the country but abroad too. Accordingly, best possible infrastructure has been created and also generated an environment to induce basic ingredients of a high class successful professionals; not only by way of imparting knowledge through class room teaching, exposure through internet, close interaction with expert teachers, guest speakers from other renowned technical institutes and industries; but also by developing their personality with adequate technical skill through various extra curricular activities so as to make them confidently face the prevailing cut throat competition in the out side world.
Department has created well equipped major laboratories like microwave Engineering, optical fiber communication, PCB and Electronic workshop, Computer Aided Design based electronic models, Electronic measurements besides an exclusive lab to work on 'Projects' which comprises of internet facility to full batch of students almost within the same time slot. Additionally, a seminar room with power point projector facilitates our students to gain confidence while giving presentation.

Department is further striving hard to strengthen its infrastructure to work on
Ph. D programs on various specialized subjects and being adequately funded by the university.

Since inception Department of Computer Science & Information Technology was dedicated to create an innovating academic environment , which focuses on the overall development of the student who is loaded with confidence to meet corporate challenge head on.
The pedagogy puts emphasis on handsome project works, seminars and presentation which moulds students in developing wholistic personality to face the competitions from the corporate world. Besides regular undergraduate and postgraduate courses research and innovations are given due importance.
 

Department of Civil Engineering is a constituent department of College of Engineering & Technology. Initially the department was running to cater the requirement of other departments. However, department has started regular undergraduate Programme of B.Tech. in Civil Engineering in 2007. The department has qualified and highly experienced staff members in the fields required for the students. The special lectures are also being delivered by the eminent Civil Engineers and Professors as and when required . Seminar, Educational tour and other academic activities are also undertaken in order to aware them latest development in civil engineering field . Students are encouraged to do their project work in collaboration with local agencies and industries in order to develop their confidence and to interact with field requirements. The department has laboratory facilities to run the programme efficiently. New advanced laboratories are in the process of establishment. Department of Civil Engineering is also planning to start postgraduate programme in the emerging area in the future.
