Inspired by the vision and mission of Allahabad
Agricultural Institute Deemed University, Bishop Johnson College of Science
and Commerce started in July 2004 with a mission for enabling students to
develop as intellectually alive, socially responsible citizens, ever ready
for continuous personal & professional growth. It is a Constituent College
of Allahabad Agricultural Institute-Deemed University under the Faculty of
Humanities, Social Science, Arts and Culture.
The rising expectations from students and Industry- have posed a challenge
to higher education where there is an increasing need to focus on the
outcomes of education. Responding to the changing scenario, our endeavor is
to promote student participation in the teaching learning process, with a
focus on imparting life-learning skills, which will enhance their
employability, thus fulfilling the objectives of higher education.
Combating the various limitations of resources & achieving synergy through
team work will be the only way to achieve results and accomplish the
demanding uphill task of providing relevant and meaningful education.
The programmes offered at the college are suitable for students who have
passed 10+2 and looking forward to a career in the modern business world.
The syllabus has been designed to give exposure to the basics of different
functional areas. After successful completion a candidate may join higher
academic courses or go to industry and business straight away.
The B.Com. curriculum is a uniquely designed semester programme where each
year has been divided into two semesters with specialization being offered
in the final year under the following fields:-
i. Applied Business Economics
ii. Accounts and Law
iii. Business Administration
The purpose of specialization is to provide students the right direction in
choosing their career goals ahead. The teaching is being done by
professionally qualified and experienced faculty using tools and techniques
compared to the best in the education industry with well equipped library
and computer lab.
The College has a vibrant work culture and a holistic approach to education
is encouraged. The simultaneous development of the intellectual, physical,
cultural and emotional faculties of the students is achieved through various
academic, co-curricular and extra curricular activities. |
