The Agricultural Engineering degree offered by College of Agricultural Engineering way back in 1943 was the first of its kind in the whole of Asia and 4th in the whole world.. The undergraduate program of B.Tech Agricultural Engineering has broad spectrum of disciplines such as Soil and Water Engineering, Water Resource Engg. & Mgt., Farm Machinery and Power Engineering, Agricultural Process and Food Engineering, Remote Sensing and Renewable Energy. The overall aim of the program structure is to train the students in increasing productivity of crops and commodities through technological inputs for timely field operations, rain water harvesting, ground water lifting, judicious application of water through on-farm interventions, soil and water conservation, land drainage, agro processing etc. This program is universally known for pure and applied research across a broad range of disciplines. The course curriculum is designed to prepare and to equip the students adequately as per the current requirement of industries. As part of the development of the engineering professional, the faculty encourages its students to play an active role in the technical and social activities of the university. |

The Department of Soil, Water Land Engineering & Management offers a broad based program of education and training in all aspects of Land and Water Resource Engineering. The international community has sufficiently advanced to refer to the 21st century as the century of water. With a combination of research efforts, human resource development and extension services, the Department has moved a long way to provide water and food security to the nation. The increasing scarcity of water and growing environmental concerns about depleting water resources are convincing the water policy makers to enlarge the focus of their work. Keeping in view the present problems faced, the Department offers various courses to meet the present and future needs. |

In recognition of the impact of advanced technologies in Farm Machinery & Power Engineering, the Department strives to promote the use of technologies for complex problem. The growing Farm Mechanization in India has been accelerated from 1967. Mechanization demands matching availability of adequate farm power has been one of the critical inputs to ensure timeliness of operations besides reducing drudgery in farm operations. Traditionally, human and draught animal power has been used in India for various tractive and stationary farm operations. The introduction of tractors, diesel engines and electric motors has helped the farmers to increase the unit of power. The Department offers various courses keeping in view the present and future needs. |

| Food is essential for human survival and these are produced through agricultural and allied activities. At present, India produces more than 400 millions of tones of food items of plant and animal origin which are transformed into edible product through post-harvest processing, starting from production till consumption. Further, India is the largest producer of fruit and second largest producer of vegetables in the world. About 5- 50% of the food items are lost during post harvest processing and the extend of loss depends on the type of food commodity. About 50% of this post harvest losses could be prevented using appropriate post harvest technology and processing equipments. The Courses offered in the Department deals with the problems in handling, processing and preservation of raw agricultural and food materials. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
